to market, to market to buy a fat pig

… well maybe not a fat pig, but certainly lots of other goodies.  I love a good market and Brisbane certainly doesn’t disappoint.  No matter where you live or what your shopping list contains, there’s certain to be a market somewhere, sometime, each month in Brisbane, just for you.   As for this weekend, I’ve got a couple of markets on my radar.  Firstly I’ll be heading to the Northey Street Organic market on Sunday morning to grab some autumn fresh fruit and veg for home.  Apples, grapes, melon, beets, green beans and  eggplant.  That little rainbow will take pride of place on my kitchen counter.  Hopefully my favourite coffee cart and chocolate stand will be there so I can take a few moments out for myself to sit and savour two of my favourite things while the hive of activity continues around me.  Aaahh, it really is those little moments of time that

on the road

On our road trip to the Fraser Coast to visit the Nana’s Pantry stores, we were fortunate to stop over at the Villa Cavour B&B at Hervey Bay.  This B&B is sure to deliver on everything you need in accommodation; host Mara being on hand to look after your every need and her husband Rocco, a highly qualified chef, at the ready to prepare your meals and hold cooking classes with you should your heart desire.   For those that know Mario, they know he is passionate about food and he will jump at any opportunity to whip up something special for others to enjoy.  On one of his nights at Villa Cavour, Mario was invited into the kitchen to prepare dessert while Rocco cooked dinner for the other B&B guests.  Excited by the prospect to share another passionate chef’s kitchen, Mario baked a couple of batches of Kitchen Angel deliciousness and as the

Pistachio Butter

A little while back I mentioned a no fuss scone recipe in one of my blogs that I served with homemade pistachio butter.  Well to be honest, I kind of forgot to give you the recipe.  But as I made another batch of my dairy, gluten and preservative free spread today, my memory came back and here it is – pistachio butter made with love!       Love, your Angel,     Cat

Little Things That Make Me Smile

I’ve been inspired by a post written by the talented blogger and artist, Trudy Florence, on some of the little things that make her smile. So, with a bit of down time in the office today, it made me stop to think what 3 things make me smile.  Off the top of my head:   1.  peonies, one of my favourite flowers       2.  having a conversation with a toddler – life is so simple yet so exciting at that age!   3.  that first bite of something sweet; it’s always the first bite that I get to indulge all of my senses.     I could seriously sit here and keep the list going …. but how about you, what are 3 things that make you smile?   Love, your Angel,     Cat   P.S. If you’ve got any feedback or questions, we’d love to hear from you.
